Using telephoto to create panoramas
- One of the reasons telephoto lenses are my absolute favorite, is the ability to create panoramas. They are so fine-tuned for that because of how far away your subjects are when you're using a telephoto lens. The further away your subject is from the lens, the easier it will be to stitch them when you post-process. So having a telephoto lens and making panoramas, it's just a natural match. Now in the Palouse I did a course for lynda.com, and I demonstrated how to do that. And this was the image I made, and not only are we seeing this, you know, really exciting new format where you have a really kind of a skinny composition, but really going a great deal on either side. Tons of resolution, because they're multiple images, it prints fantastic, and I really encourage you to print panoramas because the screen just doesn't do them justice, but when you put them on a wall, they're phenomenal.
