- Let's talk about recording video on an a7 camera. Now, in this case, I switched to the original a7S, which was known for its ability to output a 4K signal. But, all of the cameras here in the a7 series can create great video if you get things set up correctly. Because the Sony a7 lets you use great high-quality lenses, and it's got a very large sensor, this means that you can capture great-looking video. Now, there are lots of intricacies to shooting video, and if you're completely new to the topic, I'd highly recommend a course called DSLR Video Tips that will walk you through a lot of the related skills. Now, all of the Sony a7 series cameras have the ability to capture and shoot 1920 x 1080, typically referred to as 1080p or Full HD. Now, the Sony a7S, a7S II and the a7R have the ability of capturing 4K video.
