Using Creative Style

- If you're looking to push the look of your images a bit, Creative Styles in the camera can be useful. Now, essentially, these are really only designed for JPEG files and they tell your camera how to process the image. Now, again, this tends to only work in JPEG so, essentially, the computer inside your camera reads the original raw data off the image sensor then it applies a white balance setting, it might sharpen it a little bit and compresses it to a new file that uses the recipe. Now, personally, I like to do this in the computer and have greater control but if you're in a hurry or you want JPEG files that come out looking great, this will come in handy. While these processes occur, you can also do extra things. For example, you can modify the saturation or the contrast of the image.
