- When running power anywhere in the set, well running any cabling, always dress the set for safety, which means tape it down or cover it up. Now one of the most important things you can have are runners and these are great in high traffic areas, you can actually run your cabling inside them, close it, it's bright enough so people will see it and not trip over your runner and it will keep from tripping over the actual cables. Of course gaffer tape is very useful for making sure that your set is safe, and to simply gaff something down, one, use plenty of tape, don't worry about not using tape, don't use little pieces to tape down an edge, you want to actually get a nice long strip and run it along the cable, try to keep the cables straight, and you know you can use more than one piece, and just tape it down so that it's not going to flop around, now the reason I did this is because what's important is when you're dealing with gaffing cable down is how you tear it up, and what a lot of…
