Post-processing the spiral staircase images
- All right, here we are in post, and I've got my images from the staircase ready to edit. Now, this was a challenging shoot because we didn't have a lot of time, and I couldn't use a tripod, so, we worked on a method called handheld focal blending. And what I did is, let's look at the settings, I took it at f56 at ISO 1600, and that gave me a shutter speed of 1/30th of a second. Now, if you remember, I had steady shot on the camera turned on, and this enabled me to get a sharp image, but at f56 I have very limited depth of field, let me show you what I mean. For this first shot, if you look at the railings, they're very sharp. But if we scroll down and look at the very bottom pool, it's completely blurry. So what I did is, I focused on the railings on the first shot, then in the second shot, I focused on one level down, and you can see that this is nice and sharp here. And for the very third and final shot, I focused on the bottom. Zoom in there, and you'll see that it's nice and…
