Photographing a spiral staircase from the top down
- All right, this is our first composition, top down. We're on the very, very top floor, looking all the way down to the different levels of the staircase here. Through all my scouting, really fell in love with this spot. So, we're going to start here. Now, we'll notice that I've got the camera strap around my neck, because, as I hold the camera out and over, this is for safety. One, you don't want to drop the camera, valuable piece of equipment, but two, you have people below you, so you need to be very careful. So, that's why the neck strap. As a landscape shooter, I don't use this much, because I'm on a tripod. As an architechtural shooter, I flip into having a neck strap, and it's a great tool. You'll notice, of course, as we talked about in a previous video, there's no tripod. There's no tripods allowed in the museum, so we have to adjust and use different settings on the camera to get sharp images, all right?
