- [Narrator] One mistake that virtual every new photographer makes is thinking that they've always got to go it alone. You want to look for partnerships, you want to look for ways that you can cross-promote with other vendors, maybe even with other photographers and it starts by looking for partners that have the same demographics you do If you're a wedding photographer in a community, and you'd like to cross-promote with a children's photographer you've got the same demographics. You've also got the same demographics between a wedding photographer and a florist for example. So look for partners that are going to help you absorb some of the cost. And for example when I talk about cost, I'm talking about direct-mail postcard. And you're going to partner up with one or two other companies and the three of you together are going to split the cost three ways to print a postcard, to mail it and then what happens is that all of you become the ambassadors for the other two partners.
