Overview of telephoto lenses
- Now before we start image review, I think it's really important to define what a telephoto lens is. And we're gonna say anything that's 70 millimeters or longer. So a popular lens is a 70 to 200, 70 to 300, and Nikon makes a great 80 to 400, and Canon makes an excellent 100 to 400. But you also wanna look at something like a Fuji, which is a 55 to 200. Because it's on a crop sensor body, we multiply by 1.5, so in essence, that entire focal range is also telephoto. Now we're gonna be doing image review today, but if you wanna see in the field how to use telephoto lenses, you won't be surprised to hear, since it's my absolute favorite lens, that I do it in almost all my in-the-field courses. So for example, the Palouse, my courses in New Zealand, my architecture work in Chicago. So definitely check out the library to see me in the field using these lenses. All right, let's get on to image review.
