How are prime lenses different from zoom lenses?

- Depending upon when you started with photography or video, it is really a generational item of, if you started with zooms or prime lenses. These days, zoom lenses are very typical. They are more flexible, and as manufacturers are putting together video cameras, or still cameras, it's really a benefit on the giant range of coverage. A lot of cameras really tout that they can cover something between 28 millimeters to 300 millimeters, and this gives the consumer flexibility. But as a professional, sometimes there's times to choose one over the other. To make sure that things are perfectly clear, let's take a look at some of the differences between zooms and primes.
