Dreary weather on the coast review

- I suppose it wouldn't be Maine if there weren't some dreary weather along the way, and, for a couple of days, I certainly had some rain, wind, and fog. And that, I think, can actually be a very good thing because it almost feels a bit more authentic. Photographing a lighthouse under very clear skies just doesn't seem quite to be a good fit. After all, lighthouses are, in part anyway, used to help warn sailors of the coastline, the rocks, etcetera. And so I was happy to have some dreary weather when I visited the Pemaquid Point lighthouse. And, here, is one of the shots that I captured. The rocks in the foreground I think are very nice, but my focus was, of course, on the lighthouse, itself, and just presenting the overall environment, the other buildings that are there, a couple of trees. Mostly emphasizing the fog, but also the rocky coast upon which that lighthouse sits. But this angle wasn't quite working. Fortunately, I was able to find an angle with some more leading lines…
