Don't be a chimp!

- In the world of photography, you may have heard the term chimping. What is chimping? Well, chimping is when you take a picture. And then look down at the back of the camera. Well, why is that called chimping? Let me show you. (excited howling) That's chimping, don't be a chimp. Now look, you clearly want to be able to look at the back of your camera every once in awhile to make sure that you're getting the shot. Make sure that you're nailing focus, make sure the exposure's correct, the colors look the way you expect. But just take a look at a few of your shots, don't look at every single one. Make sure that your settings are dialed in, and then forget about it. Don't have the LCD come on at the end of every picture. If every time you take a picture it shows up on the back, you're gonna want to look at it. So, turn that feature off. Once it's set, once you've got everything dialed in, just shoot, and don't be a chimp. The other problem is, when you're looking down here, something else is happening out there. And you're gonna miss a great shot, so, don't look down, look out as much as you can, and don't be a chimp.
