- A lot of people wear glasses but for those of us who do, a lot of us don't like shooting while wearing glasses. So if you're not wearing your glasses when you're shooting how can you tell what's in focus when looking through the viewfinder? Well it turns out that most cameras have a diopter built into the camera. You simply spin this little dial to adjust the focus in the viewfinder itself so that what you see is totally sharp. So how do you adjust it? Well there's two different things you can do. The easy and quick way is to simply look through the viewfinder, look at some of the digital data that's presented in the screen and adjust the diopter until that's sharp. And that's going to get you pretty close to perfect. But if you want to be really accurate then you can tape a piece of newspaper on the wall, take your camera and put it on a tripod or some other stable surface, let the camera auto focus on that fine print so you know that it is perfectly sharp and then look through the…
