White balance
- Not all light is the same. Different light sources shine with different color temperatures. For example, fluorescent lights tend to run cool, while the flame from a candle tends to look warm. The human eye, generally, will automatically compensate for these changes, but your camera needs some help. The camera needs to calibrate itself based on the lighting conditions. To change the white balance on your camera setting, you'll need to use one of the advanced shutter modes, such as P, A, S or M. And then, depending upon the version of your camera, you can access this. On the original camera, you can just press to the right on the Control Wheel to access the White Balance controls. On the newer A7 Series, press the C2 button to access the White Balance Menu. And then, you can navigate using the Control Wheel. Let me show you the choices. The default value of Auto adjusts the camera automatically to the scene. The next setting, Daylight, is most useful if you're shooting under general…
