Join Levi Sim for an in-depth discussion in this video Changing the mode, channel, group, and power settings, part of Flash Photography: Canon Speedlites.
- Now I'll show you how I configure the camera settings…to use the pop-up flash as the commander,…and all the different options we have…within the commander mode menu.…Remember, I've set up my flash control…to be under the My Menu tab,…so I can access it really quickly.…Now, right here, first of all, we want flash firing,…and it's just gotta be enabled.…If we disable it, then the pop-up flash will not fire,…and it will not control the external flash lights,…the off-camera flashes.…
Next on the list is the E-TTL II metering mode.…You've got the option between evaluative and average.…Just leave it on evaluative.…You can study the differences between those…if you want to, but I think you'll have great success…just using evaluative all the time.…Now, come on down to Flash sync. speed in AV mode.…Just leave this one on auto, as well,…and then back down to the built-in flash settings.…The two external flash function settings…won't give us any options because we don't have…an external flash attached to the camera.…
