Up and Running with the Foundry CameraTracker for After Effects
CameraTracker allows you to pull 3D motion tracks and match camera moves without leaving After Effects, and offers greater control over complex tasks compared to Adobe's built-in tracker. Learn how to use this advanced plugin to track and solve basic shots, refine a camera solve with garbage mattes, and place objects into shots to test your tracking data. Motion graphics pro Andy Needham also shows how to use the Track Finder tools to remove bad tracking data, and export data to CINEMA 4D for some really cool sample projects, including a 3D simulation and a 3D text treatment.
- Tracking the motion in a shot
- Solving 3D camera data
- Refining tracks
- Identifying and fixing tracking errors
- Exporting 3D track data
- Using CameraTracker data in composites
- Hi, I'm Andy Needham and welcome to Up and Running with the Foundry's CameraTracker for After Effects. In this course we'll take a look at the best practices for using the CameraTracker in After Effects, to track the camera motion in a video clip and solve a 3D representation of that camera. Once you have 3D camera data for a shot, you can have all sorts of fun compositing objects into that shot's 3D space. I'll start by showing you how to track and solve a basic shot by walking you through the CameraTracker work flow.
Next we'll take a look at the technique to refine a camera solve using garbage mattes to focus the tracker on specific parts of a shot. Finally we'll see how you can place objects into a shot to test the 3D tracking solve. We'll be covering all these features plus plenty of other tools and techniques, like using the Track Finder tools to identify and remove bad tracking data. And exporting our 3D data to Cinema4D, where you can design a 3D scene to composite into a shot.
