Join Andy Needham for an in-depth discussion in this video Adding depth of field to the scene, part of Creating a Show Open in After Effects and Cinema 4D.
…In this video we're going to use our depth…pass to add some depth of field to the shot.…So I'm going to go to the special passes folder and select our depth pass…and I'm going to make a new composition format and I'm just going to bring that.…Depth comp into the main comp that we have here, and…just put it to the bottom and turn its visibility off.…And to create a new adjustment layer at the very top by…making sure the first layer is selected and choosing layer, new, adjustment layer.…
And we'll give this adjustment layer a name of depth of field.…We're going to add the camera lens blur effect and…you'll find it in the blur and sharpen menu.…And we're going to tell the camera lens blur effect what our blur map layer is.…So we'll just click in here and choose our show open depth layer.…So now, you can see that some changes have happened.…If we toggle the effect, we're getting some depth of field going on.…And we can increase the blur radius to exaggerate the effect.…
But for now, I think we definitely want to make it a bit more subtle.…
