Join Chris Orwig for an in-depth discussion in this video Making colors come alive, part of Adobe Camera Raw: Making Selective Adjustments.
- In this movie, we're going to take…what we've learned in the previous movies…and apply it to a project…where we will work on this image…from start to finish.…Here, we'll begin in the basic panel.…We'll apply just a few adjustments,…then we're going to crop this image.…Next, we're going to use the adjustment brush…in order to darken the background…and to brighten up some of the colors…that we have here on these balloons.…Right, well let's start off here in the basic panel.…In the basic panel, it's going to be pretty simple.…I just want to add a little bit of contrast…and then brighten up my whites just a touch.…Next, let's crop the image.…
To do so, tap the "C key" on your keyboard…to select the crop tool.…I'm just going to click and drag…a free form crop out, and when I photographed…this scene, what I was intrigued by…were just these vivid colors of these balloons…hanging on this door here.…So I want to bring those out,…really focus in on that.…With the crop tool, I'm just cropping in…and rotating just a touch.…
