- As of version 2.6, Symfony has its own installer,…and this is currently the recommended method…for installing new Symfony instances.…Symfony can also use Composer for installation,…and you'll have to if you're using 5.3 version…of PHP or Symfony 2.5 or below.…So let's look at how we install…using the Symfony installer.…On a Mac, we're gonna use Curl,…and we're gonna go ahead and download…the installer from Symfony.com.…
And notice I'm gonna point it to a file…called Symfony.phar.…Once it's downloaded, to install it,…you simply move it.…We're gonna use the sudo command…because the place where we're moving it…to protect the directory.…So we're gonna move it to user/…local/bin/symfony.…Let's try that again.…You need to specify what you're moving.…So, sudo, move, symphony.phar…into usr/local/bin/symfony.…
Notice that you don't have to use the phar extension.…Alright so now it's been moved,…and now we wanna make sure it has the correct permission.…So we're gonna run chmod a+x…/usr/local/bin/symphony.…If you're on Windows, you'll first need…
