- [Instructor] To demonstrate the tips and tricks…I'll show you in this course,…I've created an example project…and set up two sites on the same server:…one, at the start of the course where we are right now,…so unoptimized, the other, at the end of the project,…so fully optimized for HTTP/2.…The server I'm using is a standard shared host…where I have limited control.…It's not particularly fast or particularly powerful…but it has full support for HTTP/2 and its features.…When I load up each of these two sites in my browser,…you'll notice the optimized one is slightly faster,…but the real difference happens behind the scenes.…
If we inspect the actual network traffic on the two sites,…you'll see what I explained in the previous movies.…On the unoptimized site, seen here on the left-hand side,…the browser first downloads the main HTML document,…then opens as many TCP connections as possible…and tries to pull down as many CSS files,…Java script files, and images as possible,…all at the same time.…When it can't open anymore connections,…
