Join Chris Converse for an in-depth discussion in this video What you'll need to complete this course, part of Design the Web: CSS-Controlled SVG with PHP.
- Now before we get started, let's talk about what you'll need to complete this course. You'll need a text editor, this will allow you to edit HTML, CSS, and SPG files which are all text based files. You'll need a web browser. And you'll need access either to a web server that's running PHP, or you'll need to run local web server software on your computer to process the PHP files. Now, if you don't have access to a server running PHP or you'd like to try to run a local PHP server, there's a free application called MAMP that's available for both Mac and Windows.
And if you want to learn to install and configure this free application, there's a course on the library by Morten Rand-Hendriksen called Installing and Running WordPress. And there's a video in this particular course that talks about configuring MAMP. And you can use those instructions to get your software ready to run this particular project as well. So now that we know what we need in order to complete the project, next we'll talk about the exercise files that are included.
