- [Instructor] A design system includes the core visual components, style guides, and the complete set of standards, documentation, and principles that make up your whole product. The process of creating a design system may be similar, but each are one-of-a-kind since they include all the pieces that make up your system. Design systems are made up of many parts. You may see some of these terms used in different ways by different people. While there isn't an exact standard definition within the web community, there are some similar overarching ideas. Both libraries and frameworks are collections of common patterns and reusable chunks of design elements used to create different layouts. These two terms are similar and are sometimes used interchangeably. As such, the definition is widely debated. Let's take a closer look, starting with libraries.
