Interplay between variation axes
- [Instructor] In my experience, you only get a full picture of what a variable font is capable of once you start using the font variation settings property. Because now you can combine all the different variation axis to see how they interplay and change things. Let me show you what I'm talking about here. So we have this heading that we've targeted, and right now we've applied the weight axis, the width axis, and the optical sizing axis. But now because we've applied this to just that particular element, we can experiment with it to create exactly the font expression we're looking for. So for example, I can now start playing around with the optical sizing property just for this particular instance of the font to see if I can make it appear more like I want to. And one of the things I want to do is make these lines here, the hair lines, even thinner than what they are now. And this font allows me to do that with a custom…
