- [Chris] Hi this is Chris Converse, and in this episode we'll be taking a look at how we can customize thumbnail images in WordPress. Thumbnail images are a great way to promote other posts, and of course navigate a photo gallery. However, you don't have to keep the default thumbnail image that WordPress generates when you upload an image. So we'll be taking a look at customizing the thumbnails from within WordPress. Now if you want to follow along with me, login to the administration area of your WordPress site, gather some images that you'd like to upload, or use images that you already have in your media library, and if you don't have any images to use, you can download some in the Exercise Files for this episode. So here in my browser I'm logged into a WordPress site. I'm using one of the default themes here, and I can tell that I'm logged in because I can see the toolbar across the top.
