- [Instructor] When creating layouts for multiple screen sizes, we often leave it up to the designers or developers to decide how to expand, contract, shift, or rearrange the content to fit in the screen. But content strategy is not just a design issue. Design should be used to enhance the content strategy, not be a substitute for it. When creating websites for phones or smaller screens, there's less space, so content needs to be prioritized. Sometimes this leads to the decision to remove or hide the content in the smaller screen. There are times where you will have different content and layouts for different screen sizes, but think about it for a moment. If the content doesn't need to be included for a small screen, does it need to be included at all for any size? As responsive web design became a standard and mobile browsing became more commonplace, the mobile first approach emerged, which focuses on creating experiences for small screens first.
