- [Instructor] There are a number of reasons why migration projects succeed. And understanding these and playing to them as strengths will make for success. Migration projects are primarily composed of mechanical activities including code conversion, data source conversion, refactoring, rehosting, quality control and testing. Migration projects avoid the more difficult project tasks of gathering and making sense of user requirements, user training and process changes. As they deliver the same business functionality. Migration project do not need to lobby for executive attention and buy-in in the same way that a new development project must.
