Using splines to alter models

- [Instructor] What happens when you need to make a simple alteration to a model? Let us take the hair dryer as an example. Perhaps you want to change the cord so we that we have a bit more control over the look of it. Now we can use splines to do this, in this case. So, if you're not familiar with splines, go watch chapter three of Cinema 4D R18, Essential Training: Motion Graphics, where I go over spline modeling in detail. So we've got the original cord here for reference and I can just hide that and I'm going to show you a little setup here and it's not important how I got to this at all, if we just enable the plug and all I've done is draw out the spline and use the sweep NURBS to describe the shape, and we've got a lot of control here because we're starting with a thick cord and as we come down, it thins out a bit at the end, and so if we go into the point mode, we can actually move those points up the spline and the cord will follow and the plug will follow with it, so we can…
