Using Sculpt Symmetry - CINEMA 4D Tutorial
From the course: Hard Surface Sculpting and Retopologizing in Cinema 4D
Using Sculpt Symmetry
- Symmetry is a great feature of the Sculpting toolset, it allows us to do half the work, and sometimes even less, based upon the design of our model, that of course, assumes that our model is symmetrical. But fortunately for us, it is in this case. So let's just do a quick demonstration of that. I'm gonna go back to the Sculpting Layers, and I think I will add one more Subdivision, maybe two more. Let's go to Subdivision Level 3, let's play, get rid of the lines. So let's just start, this is again, not working towards the design of our ship so much, as just demonstrating the function of the Sculpting toolset. So we'll go to the Pull tool. It will be described in more detail later; however, let's talk about Symmetry. So, if you look in the Tool Properties, you'll see this, tabs along the top. One of them is Symmetry. Before you even get there though, there's this Link Symmetry button, so we want to click that. What Link Symmetry does, is ensure that when you create subsequent brushes,…
