- Okay, it's time to add a glass material…to the top of our compass using…the Transparency channel of the material.…Let's double click the Material Manager.…Double click and call this glassTop.…Click and drag that right on top of the top of the compass.…Let's double click that.…Let's go into the Transparency channel…and you can see, immediately, it just completely disappears.…Well, that's because we have the Refraction set at one.…Now, each transparent object in nature…has different indexes of refraction…and a simple Google search can list…a whole bunch of those for you.…
So, glass we can use typically like a 1.45 or a 1.55.…So, let's just try 1.5.…As soon as we do that, there's a preview up here…of what that's going to look like on the material.…Just as an example, if I set it 1.1,…you can see it's way different than if it was 1.8 right.…This is just how the light is refracted…through the material.…So now, if we just pull back a little bit…and render that, you'll be able to see this nice glass top.…
