Reflective materials
- [Lecturer] To make reflective materials you need to enable the Reflectance Channel. By default, new materials are created with a color and Reflectance Channel and the default Specular Layer is already present. So, in the material that we want to create, which is this red plastic, double-click and open the Material Editor, we can see that we don't have any Reflectance layers set up. So I'm going to enable the channel and I'm going to add a new layer, and we can choose one of the types here, I'm just going to go with GGX for now. I'm just going to take off this Specular Strength and come down to the Layer Fresnel. With the Fresnel settings we can control the strength of the reflections relative to what angle you are viewing the object from. So with the Fresnel on, the greater the angle at which you view the surface normal, that's where you'll see more reflections.
