Learn how to model realistic 3D characters with the powerful and flexible modeling toolset in CINEMA 4D. Chris Broeska shows you how to use a basic front and side template and create basic shapes with NURBs Lofts and Sweeps. Then you'll convert the patches to polygons and stitch them together to create a base mesh. The last chapter shows you how to complete the character by setting up the UVs for the model and head, and mirror both the polygons and UVs to create the other sides of your character.

Topics include:
  • Setting up templates in the viewport
  • Creating the proxy model
  • Modeling facial features with NURBs patches
  • Stitching the elements together
  • Creating the torso
  • Extruding the arms, legs, hands, and feet
  • Setting up the UVs
  • Mirroring polygons and UVs

Welcome

- Hi, I'm Chris Boeska. Welcome to Modeling a Character in Cinema 4D. In this course, we will focus on the powerful and flexible modeling tool set available in Cinema. We'll start with a simple front and side template, and create a basic character shape with nurbs patches. We will then convert those patches to polygons and stitch them together to create our final base mesh. I'm excited to show you how powerful the modeling tools are in Cinema 4D, and why this is my favorite modeling software.
