- [EJ] Hello again, and welcome to another C4d Weekly, this week I'm going to be covering the absolute basic concepts of inverse kinematics, or IK rigging in Cinema 4d and hopefully help you understand basic rigging workflows, the lingo, and how you can start rigging your own characters. So the first thing I'm going to cover is the mechanical way to rig up something. So you can see I have two little robot arms here, and I'm going to demonstrate the concepts of different ways you can set up a rig, so there's FK, or forward kinematics, and IK, inverse kinematics. So FK is the way to animate something in a forward fashion. So you can see the hierarchy here, and the hierarchy's very important, where the shoulder and the elbow and the hand are all children of each other, so the tube is a child of the elbow, and the forearm's a child of the elbow, and that's the axis center where I can bend from, and then the elbow is a child…
