Exploring the Scrape and Fill brushes

- In this video, we're going to be covering the application of the Scrape and Fill brushes. Let's start out talking about the Scrape tool. What it does is figures the amount of curvature in the mesh, and it's going to essentially flatten out that curve, but within a certain radius. And the radius is also determined by the radius of the brush. So again, hard to describe, it's almost better just to try to demonstrate it. So, I've subdivided the mesh quite a bit at this point. This is up to 851,000 polygons. Let's just see what it does. I'm just going to go along this edge here. So you see, essentially it's beveling the curve, and it's a really useful thing to have when you're trying to do mechanical modeling and sculpting. It's often a challenge trying to get sharp edges instead of sort of blobby models. What's interesting about this brush is that if you're trying to use it on a surface that isn't curved, let's say just like the flat side of this ship, and I've got the Scrape tool on…
