Creating a steadicam effect with the Motion Camera rig
- A steadicam shot is one that is somewhere in between a camera that's on a fixed rail system for a perfectly smooth glide and a hand held camera. And it's often used to create a sort of dreamlike effect or a continuous sense of time. When you really need the freedom of camera movement, you'll often end up using a steady camera rig in the real world. And emulating that style of movement can be helpful to ground your viewer in that similar sensibility. So, in this scene, we've got our camera moving from the side of the house towards the front, and there's just a little bit of bobbing from our steadicam action. And I'm going to show you how to recreate this effect in a new scene using the motion camera object. So go ahead and choose the start version of this scene. You see we've got two cameras, start and end. And I've placed them here just so that we have a reference for how we want our camera to line up roughly, what our positioning should be.
