Building mass with the Pull and Wax brushes
- The Grab tool was one way to build up mass and sorta prototype your model. Another way is to use the Pull tool. This is another one where I like to use it at low subdivision levels, but it also comes in quite handy at higher subdivision levels, so it's really quite a versatile tool. Let me go with a bigger brush here. Just give you a quick demonstration of what the Pull tool does. I'm gonna go up to a higher subdivision level, and I'm just gonna just drag along the mesh. See what it does? This basically just pulls out polygons or points wherever you press, as you might expect. So let's Undo. Like many of these brushes, it has the opposite effect when you hold down the Control key. So if you wanted to create indentations instead of protuberances, you just hit the Control key, and then you can, as before, sort of shift. Now you can see what I was disucssing in the Grab video is that when I'm trying to smooth this out, it's really having almost no effect, and the reason for that is…
