Wall thickness

- [Instructor] Another very important check that you have to perform is the wall thickness check. When you're doing something like an injection molded part, you want to verify that the walls aren't too thick in certain areas. A very important area to check is anything under ribs or any areas that may have gotten too thick in order to mold correctly. So, with the Wall Thickness Analysis tool, you just basically pick your part body, give it a Tolerance of say a tenth of a millimeter. It's just a small part so I really want to verify very tight tolerance and just simply hit Run. What the system's going to do is it's going to set up a focus and I want to focus on the thick areas, not the thin areas. I really don't care about thin areas on this. I know I've designed some pretty thin spots and that's fine. Now the thick areas are anything greater than 2.5 millimeters. So I want to verify that I don't have anything that is greater than that.
