How to parallel a curve
- [Instructor] Parallel curve is used to take a curve and create an offset at a distance from the original curve. In this case, this is a planar curve, so it assumes the support plane. If I have a condition in which the curve is non-planar, for instance, this intersection, you'll notice that it does not assume a support. Here, I need to pick the surface that I want it to travel along, and then I can specify that distance. Also, I have the ability to come in and specify the type of distance that I want with a law. I'm going to use a linear, and I'll go from 92 to 50. (tone chimes) Preview that. And at this end it goes out 50, and at this end it goes 92, and it is a linear transition between those two points. If I go back into Law, I can change this to an S type. And now we have a cubic-shaped transition from point to point.
