- There is no question in my mind that the future of construction drawings is digital. Any reason that may have existed in the past for working from a roll of paper blueprints is quickly evaporating. The digital PDF format has become a standard format for sharing digital construction drawings no matter what CAD program the drawings were initially created in. If you're accustomed to receiving paper drawings like big rolls of blueprints, or single sheets showing plot plans, be prepared for this to change. On many sites and projects throughout the world, this change has already occurred and I have no reason to believe that it won't continue.
