- [Instructor] Here I want to show the benefit of layers to you. I'm looking at the layers that exist in this file. And some of these already have objects assigned to 'em. I'm going to turn that off so that you can see just what's left. The idea would be that you can create layers with the Add button, Add Layer. You can add as many as you want. I'm going to say let's do three. For example, where I want it to have, here I'm going to say FLOORS or FURNITURE. So what I can be doing is when I pick, that's the creation of the layer, when I pick the object, these are grouped and so I pick it. What I can do is I can come up here and then I can say let's call that Floors. I think for me to be consistent, I should name them 3D FLOORS and 3D FURNITURE and so on. Point would be I usually will turn off the layer and then I can kind of subtractively see as I take things out of the main model and put them into the layer.…
