What to request when you land a job

- In order to start as quickly as possible when you have your first meeting with the director, there are a number of things you should request beforehand from production. First thing, should be pretty obvious, is the script. I always ask for the entire script, not just the sides. Sides are just a portion that you might need. Generally it's for actors, but sometimes they'll only send you a small portion. But you're helping tell the story. The more you know, the more you can help. So ask for the entire script. Ask which scenes the director is going to want to board. If you're working in live action as we've talked about before, you're only going to be storyboarding certain sequences, not the entire thing. Now if you're working in animation, you know you're doing the whole thing, but if there is multiple story artists, you might only be doing one sequence. Find out. Also, ask who the director is.
