- In the last segment, I spoke about wasted time spent in the overall construction process during design and procurement, and mentioned that this waste is inherent in the traditional design-bid-build method of project delivery. Different methods of project delivery, or alternative project delivery methods, such as design-build, Construction Manager At Risk, integrated project delivery, and other delivery methods that are characterized by early contractor engagement, aim to deliver best value to the owner, as opposed to best price. Selecting a project delivery method that fits the project's type and the owner's needs is one big key to eliminating wasted time and reducing the duration of the overall construction process.
