- [Instructor] I'm instructor Mark Hechel. I'm a practicing professional who implements product lifecycle management solutions for manufacturers in both the application architect and learning architect roles. As such, I combine real world experience with economic credentials to provide thought leadership in new product development and product lifecycle management. Is your organization struggling to deliver better products at lower price points on an ever shortening timescale? This course provides full additional knowledge of the Agile project management methodology within the context of new product development, helping address those business challenges. I believe that a company's new product development activities are a competitive advantage and that applying Agile methodologies are a key enabler of those activities. This course is intended to provide a framework for using Agile project management methodologies within the new product development environment. It is not, by itself, either an introduction to Agile project management methodology or new product development. It is most applicable to professionals engaged in new product development. It is organized as a series of conversations about how the Agile project management methodology fits in with traditional new product development processes to address the business issues facing manufacturers today. As an introduction and refresher on the Agile project management methodology the Agile methodology is an iterative approach to product development. As many manufacturers are seeking to engage deeply with their customers, we find that the iterative approach that Agile offers can provide significant advantages to the new product development process. The Agile methodology also stresses a collaborative environment. Again this is something many manufacturers seek to integrate into their new product development processes.
