- Today, we live in a time where we're all surrounded by design. It's so prevalent that you might find that a three year old can actually tell you in detailed description what the design's like, what's it look like, what's it feel like, and even what their experience is like. Design used to be only for the rich, but now it's approachable by everybody. So what does that mean for the designer? I'm Scott Clear, I'm the Chief Design and Innovation Officer at RKS Design. In this course, we're going to explore at a very high level on what is industrial design, and then we're going to meet with the industrial designer and talk about his day to day, and then later, we're going to get into a little bit deeper specialty areas, and we're going to meet a designer that focuses on sketching and we'll see some of the capabilities there, and then we're going to talk to a designer that specializes in transportation design, and she'll share some of her experiences with us, as well. So we're going to wrap things up by briefly discussing what happens after form and function. So please, join me on this journey on exploring industrial design. Let's get started.
