- [Instructor] I'd like to keep going with these massings. So under projects, I'm going to go open. I'm going to browse to where I'm keeping my exercise files, I'm going to grab this wall by face, or of course, if you have a massing of your own, go ahead and open that up. I'm going to go to open. Let's turn our mass on, so let's go to VG, let's scroll down until we find mass and let's turn it on.
Let's hit apply, let's hit OK. One thing I want to do is, let's go ahead and select the mass. Let's click edit in place. Now if we hover over this front face somewhere on it and select it, I want to come up here and I want to click on add profile. Notice now, we can add a profile pretty much anywhere we want. So I'm going to put one like right about, maybe, here.
If we hit escape a couple of times, now if we hover over it, notice that we can grab the edge of it. What happens is, it brings up a little gizmo. So if I grab this little green button here, and just kind of pull it out ever so slightly, notice now, it's going to re-project that shape. Unfortunately, I don't think the column's going to go with it. Let's click finish mass, that's okay, let's select our in place family, let's click on edit in place, let's select this sweep, click edit sweep, pick path, we need to pick 3D edges, so click pick 3D edges, now let's grab this one, delete that straight line, click finish, finish again, now you've got it.
So we can still update our structure to it. I want to undo all of that though, so I'm going to click undo, all the way back to edit family. What I would like to do is, let's go back to the massing and site tab, Let's select curtain system by face so click on that. Let's click edit type. Let's duplicate it.
Let's call it concrete wall. Hit okay. For the layout let's go maximum spacing, let's set the spacing to two feet. Grid two let's do the same thing. And we'll have no mullions. What I do want to do though is make a new curtain panel. So click okay.
Now I'm going to just simply apply it to these faces. Create system. Because it's a little bit funky on this side here all we need to do is go to architecture. Let's put a grid in there. So I'm going to go right to the midpoint here. Go right to the midpoint here.
Now, what I want to do is in the project browser let's scroll down in families, let's go to curtain panels, let's go to system panel. Let's grab solid. Duplicate this, let's call it concrete. Hit okay. Material concrete. Let's go cast-in-place gray.
Let's click okay. Let's click okay. Now if we select one of these systems if we tab onto it we get it? There we go. It's not the easiest thing to select. Click edit type. Now for the curtain panel we're going to go system panel concrete and apply. Hit okay.
Now we've got a cool little system going. What's neat about it too is if we come in here and we select one of these curtain grid lines. Select it. We can simply add remove segments. Makes one big panel. So that shape has taken on something pretty cool I think.

Q: Why can't I earn a Certificate of Completion for this course?
A: We publish a new tutorial or tutorials for this course on a regular basis. We are unable to offer a Certificate of Completion because it is an ever-evolving course that is not designed to be completed. Check back often for new movies.
