Urban centers and corridors

- So what's your ideal neighborhood? Yeah, I know that's totally a loaded question 'cause there are so many intangible qualities that makes a place home. But as urban designers, we're students of place. We study cities, towns, villages, both ancient and modern to understand what are the physical qualities that makes a place successful. And right now, we're seeing a resurgence in older, inner-city neighborhoods. These have become some the most desirable places for people to want to live, and it's because the old historic fabric lends itself to being great urban places. These are neighborhoods that can accommodate people of all walks of life, people of all ages and abilities, and people of all different types of incomes. And so, those are the type of great urban places that we're trying to emulate. As part of our growth strategy for our urban design framework, we want to concentrate our new growth into centers and corridors. Now, I know that centers and corridors sounds a bit wonky, but…
