- [Narrator] As I mentioned in a previous chapter 3DS Max does not store 2D image data in the scene file, or .max document. If you use a texture or a background that's an external file that's linked to your scene, and the 3DS Max project folder structure is a method for preserving the links between these different data types. It's very important that if you have images in your scene that they are located inside a specific folder in your project, and that is scene assets images, and these are the images that I have provided with the course. If your files are in this folder, then that's half of the battle. The other half is to make sure that the paths to your images are correct in 3DS Max. Just because a file is located in the right location doesn't mean that 3DS Max is looking for it in the right location, and vice versa. 3DS Max can actually find a file if it's located in some other random place, but that's a very, very bad work flow.
