Solder an LED into a PCB

- Okay, let's get to soldering some components. And your first component you're more than likely going to solder is an LED so let's take a look at LEDs. The first thing to note is, yeah, LEDs look different, right. I have one that's red here, I have a frosted one, but in general they're all the same. They also typically have one leg that's longer than the other, and that indicates that the long lead is the positive and the short is the negative. But again, always double check your data sheets, check that schematic. We're not here to learn about electronics we're learning just about the soldering process. So once we've identified our LED and we're going to solder it into this half size breadboard, the Perma-Proto board, but really any PCB is the same. Whether it's even a flexible PCB the process is almost identical. So I'm going to use my PanaVise here. Get it ready for my LED and the PanaVise will just hold it…
