- Now let's take a look at securing your work. The easiest way to secure something, believe it or not, is with a little tape. This should be in your toolbox. I use gaffers tape, 'cause it sticks, but it also releases. It's easy to tear. And I'll use it in situations like, for instance, securing this small component to a PCB. We're going to go ahead and solder the backside, all these pins here, but sometimes it'll fall out. So I might just take a piece of tape, hold it there, just temporarily, just to get enough solder on one pin to hold it in place. And that tape is a lifesaver. You can also use it to hold a board in place, say if it was on your pad here. And don't want to melt the tape, but tape comes in handy in many situations.
