- [Female Instructor] Many early consumer 3D Printers didn't have wireless capability. However, if your printer can be controlled over USB, you may be able to retrofit it for wireless printing with the Raspberry Pi, and the open source OctoPrint software. Note that this will just set up wireless printing within your local network however. - [Male Instructor] A Raspberry Pi is a small Linux computer. The free, opensource OctoPrint software can run on a Linux computer, including a Pi, and provide a wireless host interface for your printer. The cheapest way to make your printer wireless is to buy a Raspberry Pi for about $35 plus the appropriate cable and power supply for the Pi. Check OctoPrint's website to see which models are supported. Here is a setup on a 3D printer with the Pi powered by wall power. - [Female Instructor] OctoPrint is primarily a host program.
