Join Brian Myers for an in-depth discussion in this video Project postmortem, part of BIM Management: Techniques for Managing People and Processes.
- While the project kick off meeting…happens at the start of a project…and provides everyone with a good understanding…of how a project will take place,…the project postmortem will happen at the end of the project…and will dissect how well the team met their initial goals,…as well as how the project progressed.…This is a group project team meeting where you discuss…what was successful in the project,…what did not work on the project,…and give the team an opportunity to discuss the good and bad…that occurred during the process from their perspectives.…
This is the time where I like to…praise our successes with examples…and when required, advertise our failures with examples.…Praise is always a good thing.…Give praise whenever you can.…But you may be surprised at how effective calling out…project issues in a group setting…will keep those issues from happening again.…Especially if it is accompanied by the value of why…and how extra value can be derived from…doing it differently in the future.…
I've found I can point to issues on a screen…
