- I may have a call time to meet with the director, say at two in the afternoon, but I'm going to start prepping before that. First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to read the script. In fact, I'm going to read it more than once. I really need to understand the story if I'm going to storyboard it. Then I'm going to get into research. So let's say the script is talking about some specific type of gas can. I'm going to research images of that so I know what it looks like, but some of the images I might be researching could be cars, trains, helicopters, anything that's called out in the script, and particularly in those scenes I'm working on. Now if it's an ongoing show, I'm going to also research the character. So for instance, on "Black Lightning," one of the shows that I storyboard, a lot of the characters have very specific super suits.
